About the Role

 

Reporting directly to the Area Mechanical Supervisor Maintenance on site, we are currently seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our Maintenance team at Kwinana.
 

 
Main responsibility:

  • Responsible for quality routine inspection, maintenance and corrective repair of fixed plant equipment.
  • Contributing to our safety and continuous improvement culture, BHP Operating Systems (BOS), by being pro-active and demonstrating a commitment to high standards of execution within your trade.
  • Proficiency with computer based planning systems, ideally 1SAP & Fiori
  • Have a sound understanding of maintenance management principles,
  • Work effectively with other maintenance and production team members, including contractors.
  • Complete Field leaderships as per KPI.
  • Maintain a high level working knowledge of safety processes
  • Ensure that all documentation and data entry is accurately completed
  • Undertake all inspections of equipment and maintenance tools
  • Maintain a high level working knowledge of safety processes
  • Ensure adequate of corrective work to facilitate the Planning Process.
     

About You

 

As a successful candidate, we are looking for applicants with following skillset and experience: 

  • Overriding commitment to BHP Charter, health, safety, environment and sustainable development.
  • Experience working as a Mechanical Fitter in a Processing Plant is highly desirable
  • Must be Trade qualified in Fitter/Machinist
  • Forklift Licence, Franna, Working at Heights, Confined Space, and EWP tickets an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a diverse team environment
  • Ability to work well within a team to achieve outcomes
  • Motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision
  • Be dedicated to Continuous Improvements
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills
