As the Technician Plumbing, you’ll contribute extensively to the effective day-to-day maintenance of I&S operations, you’ll be an innovative thinker with a strong mind for problem solving solutions, breakdown repairs, maintenance and utility management.

You will be responsible for undertaking day-to-day preventative and breakdown maintenance throughout our camps and facility assets. The location of this role is within I&S Villages, based in our Eastern Pilbara mining area.

 

 

 

Reporting to the Supervisor Maintenance. The role will include but not limited to:

 

 

  • General Plumbing duties as prescribed by the Supervisor Maintenance.
  • General Gas Fitting duties as prescribed by the Supervisor Maintenance (kitchen equipment)
  • Potable water line leak repairs
  • Accurately recording information for quality and reliability Log Booking.
  • Undertaking preventative maintenance checks & inspections, in accordance with our maintenance planning systems and recommending appropriate follow-up action.
  • Working through schematic drawings, prints, plans or manuals, and recording any modifications.
  • Machinery Operations including, but not limited to skid steer, excavator, HR Truck and forklift.
  • Statutory Inspections and testing on Village Assets.
  • Kitchen & facilities asset preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Village rooms & laundry maintenance and repairs.
  • Breakdown, fault repairs and servicing on commercial assets.
  • Carrying out maintenance, commissioning, fault finding and repair work within the whole-of-job scope, including pre-work, preparation of JHAs, organising materials, execution, testing and completion of tasks.
  • Safely carry out mechanical isolations in preparation for maintenance and shutdowns.
  • Accurately completing documentation, including drawing mark-ups and technical reporting.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement programs and cost saving initiatives.
  • Utilising computerised maintenance management systems and undertaking training as required.

 

 

About You

 

 

Our successful candidate will have the following

  • Plumbing Tradespersons License (essential)
  • Plumbing Contractors License (highly desirable)
  • Gas Fitting Class G license – installing and servicing (essential)
  • Commission & Maintain Back flow prevention devices (highly desirable)
  • An experienced & strong history in Plumbing construction and or Maintenance or similar role
  • Have previous experience in similar roles (highly desirable)
  • Proven plant and heavy equipment operator skills and tickets: Excavator, skid steer,
  • High Risk work licence including: Forklift, WAH, EWP, Boom Lift, Confined space. (highly desirable) 
  • HR class drivers license (highly desirable) 
  • Have a proven track record of safety management.
  • Working knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection Act & Regulations
  • Have great communication and team relationship skills.
  • Have a high skill level in 1SAP Work Management processes, Microsoft

 

 

 

 

Location

 

 

 

You will be based at Warrawandu Village, located 30 minutes from Newman on a fly-in fly-out 7:7 roster, 8:6 regional option available for this location. After hours call outs are rostered and renumerated. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include: 1 fully equipped gym, swimming pool, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court, beach volleyball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts, table tennis, TV. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
