About the Role

 

In the role of Technician Safety Store - Mine you will contribute to the day-to-day operations of the Mine Safety Store. You will be an active team member and support the requirements of various work teams, by adhering to operating requirements and striving for the achievement of individual, team, departmental and site objectives as directed.   

 

Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7/7 roster pattern roster arrangement, with residential, FIFO (from Adelaide) or DIDO options available.

 

In this role you will:

 

  • Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
  • Issue PPE to Mine personnel, demonstrating good customer service skills
  • Manage and order stock, while maintaining stock control, good Inventory Management and record keeping practices
  • Test and certify Critical Safety Equipment in line with Site Standards and Statutory Requirements
  • Allocate and clean out lockers as well as support HR, permanent employees and visitors
  • Build cross-functional relationships with suppliers and customers
  • Maintain high standards of Safety Store organisation, cleanliness, and compliance

About You

 

  • Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way
  • Experience in a safety store, workshop or warehousing environment (advantageous but not essential)
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as a part of the team
  • Ability to use computer systems confidently, including Email (Microsoft Outlook or similar), Basic Excel/Word
  • Proven, excellent safety track record and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Valid SA unrestricted Drivers’ Licence
  • Well-developed organisational skills with high attention to detail
  • Pro-active communication and customer service skills
