About South Flank

BHP’s US$3.6 billion South Flank is a greenfield mine and brownfield processing centre created adjacent to and within the Mining Area C operation. Located approximately 130km north-west of Newman, South Flank together with Mining Area C will become one of the largest iron ore hubs in the world, within reach of several billion tonnes of high-grade ore. South Flank will help to maximise the volume and quality of BHP’s iron ore production, which is essential for the world’s steel.

About the Role

This opportunity will be offered on an 8 days on / 6 days off, Fly in – Fly out roster.

 

Reporting to the Supervisor of Standardised Work within the Mobile Equipment Maintenance team.

 

We are seeking a number of inquisitive and team-spirited individuals to take on these key Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter, Auto Electrician or Boilermaker roles within the Standardised Work Team at South Flank.

 

You will contribute to the development of Standardised Work practices within the Mobile Equipment Maintenance team and ensuring we have safe, effective and constant maintenance standards that contribute to high mobile equipment availability.

 

You will also provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability and ensuring adequate scoping of corrective work to facilitate the planning process. As well as reviewing and requesting updates to Work Management and other Master Data as required.

About You

You will have the ability with your Mechanical Technical background to investigate, analyse and influence for an outcome focused result. You will have a passion for continuous improvement, problem solving and working effectively in a team, always having safety at the forefront of your mind.

 

In addition to the above, our ideal candidate will hold a Trade Certificate in Heavy Duty Diesel Fitting, Auto Electrician, HV Electrician or as a Boilermaker, have previous exposure with mobile maintenance and have a good understanding of Standardised Work practices.
