About the Role
Location: Prominent Hill, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off
Department: Processing Production
Manager: Coordinator – Production & Training
Employment Type: Permanent
In this role you will:
- Train and development of team members within the Plant Processing team.
- Assist with the coordination of isolations for operations teams to execute plant shutdowns in a timely manner, adhering to isolations management procedure.
- Develop and implement training framework including all relevant documentation, compliance, and competencies for operational responsibilities.
- Ensure work procedures and general housekeeping is maintained to an acceptable standard.
- Ensure safe isolation of plant for work to be conducted.
- Implement improvement projects within the process plant with a specific focus on reducing safety risk, reducing operating cost and improving revenue.
- Train and develop personnel in all areas of the concentrator in safety and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Review and report all safety incidents, hazards, and events according to site procedures and train and mentor others in the same process. Conduct and participate in investigations as required.
- Coordinate safety and operational procedures to ensure all processing crews are aligned.
- Support the Production supervisors and Specialist with administrative tasks relating to training.
- Focus on safety and performance when training team members.
- Facilitating isolation training.
About You
- At least 6 years’ experience in continuous or minerals processing environment with specific experience in base metal concentrator operations including grinding, flotation, and dewatering processes.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding in training process technicians, and in the support and/or development of training documentation and systems for an operational workforce.
- Prior experience training and developing people with a focus on driving change
- Strategic thinking; establishes short- and long-term plans in line with business objectives.
- Strongly developed communication and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to Establish and maintain productive relationships; works collaboratively to achieve results.
- Independent, objective thinker who makes effective, collaborative decisions under pressure.
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or Skills Assessor
- Current National Police Check (NPC)
- Desirable but not required, Enter and work in confined spaces, Gas Test Atmospheres, Provide First Aid including CPR, Drivers licence.
