About the Role

 

 

In this role, you will be part of the Technology Team Minerals America (MinAm) which includes demand capture, portfolio development and delivery of projects and initiatives: Development and technology support of Applications, Infrastructure and Control Systems Engineering as well as Technology Projects Estimation and Execution for our operations in MinAm. 

 

Reporting to the IT Manager, your responsibilities will include: 


•    Provide technical expertise in the management and support of technology systems and projects 
•    Contract management support as cost optimization is a key to performance excellence: ensuring that delivery of services is provided within the agreement, SLA’s, metrics, KPIs and financial target.
•    Executing the implementation of changes and minor enhancements of the applications within portfolio.
•    Ensuring compliance to regulatory, organizational standards and controls, identifying the risks associated to applications under support, evaluating the risks identified.
•    Responsible to manage the budget associated with the Portfolio. This includes forecasting and leading the actions required to address deviations.
•    Driving a continuous improvement, cost savings initiatives through automation, simplification and standardization opportunities across applications.
•    Deliver effective and timely responses to service requests, resolves incidents/problems and manages the Technology service catalogue.  
•    Determine the underlying cause of problems and evaluates multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems.  
•    Visits to mine sites located in the north of Chile are required to connect with internal customers.
•    Monitor and integrate Voice of the Customer market research into product roadmaps. Develops and embeds leading methods for the collection and analyses of voice of the customer data to drive value and customer satisfaction.
•    Evaluating Systems and Processes: Assess existing systems and procedures, identify areas for improvement, and suggest optimizations. Coordinate with other technical professionals in the development and implementation of new systems.
•    Market research: Stay updated with market trends, advancements, and competitors to make relevant, tactical decisions for BHP’s growth.

About You

 

 

To be successful in this role, the candidate must have a general knowledge of technological processes and applications. A overall knowledge and understanding of problem-solving practices and as well as economic evaluation and impact tracking for projects and digital initiatives.   


To be successful in the role you will need:


•    Professional degree related to IT field.  
•    Advanced English level will be highly regarded. 
•    The role requires to be highly organized and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills (Including root-cause analysis) with the ability to prioritize effectively in a high-pressure environment. 
•    Your ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, projects and stakeholders simultaneously will be critical. Is required to understand and communicate general technical information to non-technical audiences. 
•    Exposure to working in a global environment, including geographically dispersed businesses, communication across a variety of cultures, levels, off-shore outsourced service providers etc. 
•    Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in various technologies, systems, coding languages, and applications.
•    Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, interpret results, and make data-driven decisions.
•    Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues.
•    Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with business partners and technology teams.
