About the Role

 

Are you passionate about using data and automation to drive smarter decisions and improve efficiency? 

BHP is seeking a Specialist Technology Insights to join a Technology for Technology team. This team empowers BHP’s digital functions by delivering and managing enterprise platforms and tools, including ServiceNow, in a collaborative, federated model.


In this 12-month fixed-term role, you will be a key contributor to identifying opportunities for automation within IT Service Management (ITSM), designing and developing digital solutions, and measuring their effectiveness. You’ll work in a hybrid team environment, applying your expertise in digital process automation, analytics, and data science to solve problems and enhance productivity across the organisation.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Identify and remove blockers to team performance through data insights and process automation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs and deliver data-driven automation solutions, including chat/agent engineering.
  • Design, develop, test, and measure the effectiveness of automation products.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies in data science, analytics, and automation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data models and automation workflows.

About You

 

You are a confident team player and continuous learner who thrives on innovation and improvement. You bring a strong mix of technical expertise and problem-solving ability, with a passion for delivering value through technology.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

  • Experience with ServiceNowVirtual AgentCommon Services Data Model, and ITSM applications.
  • Strong analytical, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience in Data Science and/or Digital Process Automation.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., User Stories, Retrospectives, Backlog Refinement).
  • Knowledge of industry-relevant technologies in automation and data science.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Industry framework knowledge about ITIL and Service Management Operations (highly regarded).
  • A degree in STEM or Business (highly regarded).

 

Location

 

You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower - ‘City Square’. You will have stunning river views from your modern open plan office, state of the art facilities including virtual whiteboards and video conferencing facilities, 550 bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers and change room amenities and a large outdoor terrace with barbecues. You will be working on Monday to Friday roster with 3-2-1 arrangement. Three days from the office, two days from home, one of those days must be a Monday or Friday.
