About the Role

Reporting to the Supervisor Condition Monitoring & Lubrication, as a Terminal employee Tool Store Operator you will be responsible for the following:

  • Assisting the team with new asset arrival to site 
  • Creating purchase requisition and liaising with SAP suppliers
  • Escalating concerns with parts
  • Maintaining our consumables and stores area int he workshop and placing orders as required
  • Raising purchase orders and warehouse reservations
  • Raising urgent freight requests
  • General workshop support
  • Support site light vehicle management

 

This position is based in the Mackay Region at the BMA Hay Point Coal Terminal Site, working a Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday Day roster. The role is Dayshift only (with the possibility that some nightshift) may be required if requested or for future crew openings. This is a great roster, Mackay and surrounds offers excellent lifestyle opportunities and development opportunities are on offer. As this role is a residentially located role (no FIFO or camp available), only Mackay based applicants will be considered.

 

About You

If you have worked or are new to a maintenance role you believe that your maintenance future could be in mining then we might have a relevant opportunity for you if you hold the following:

  • Warehousing or tool store experience
  • C Class drives license (Mandatory)
  • Desirable – SAP knowledge and experience
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Strong presentation, communication and coaching skills and the ability to work closely in a team environment
  • Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way.
  • Be focused on working collaboratively within your team to achieve results.
  • Strong organisational skills and time management
  • Achieves results though working with multiple stakeholders and managing multiple work processes in a busy and complex environment
  • Ability to manage competing priorities within tight timeframes and meet deadlines
  • A positive attitude, able to adapt quickly to your work environment and enjoy working as a team player
  • Continuous improvement mindset, understanding of BHP Operating System and practical problem-solving skills
  • High organisation skills and ability to apply 5S standard to your work environment (desirable)
