About the Role

 

We are seeking qualified Underground Production Supervisors (Explosion Risk Zone Controllers) to join our Broadmeadow Mine located in central Queensland. Working an even 7/7 roster, you’ll drive in and out of either the nearby town of Moranbah or our Eureka Village Camp. Reporting to the Production Superintendent, your role will be to lead a successful team, providing coaching and mentoring to ensure delivery against performance targets.


You will be responsible for statutory reporting to the Underground Mine Manager and all aspects of health and safety in your area.  You may be assigned to longwall, development, outbye or supporting roles, depending upon your experience and scheduling needs.

 

  • Supervise coal mine workers and take control of activities in one or more Explosion Risk Zones for an underground coal mine 
  • Carry out inspections of an Explosion Risk Zone, assessing if the zone is safe for operations, covering all matters in Coal Mining Safety and Health legislation
  • Direct and oversee all personnel, systems and equipment within the mining zone
  • Comply with, and audit compliance to, the Safety and Health Management System for the mine
  • Record findings of inspections and other activities, and make them available to coal mine workers

 

 

About You


As the successful candidate, you will possess an underground statutory ticket - as minimum a Deputy’s Certificate of Competency in Queensland. 

 

  • You will have demonstrated leadership skills and experience, supervising work teams in an underground environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must, with interpersonal skills allowing you to build relationships within your teams and across departments
  • You will be able to communicate with disciplines at all levels and be capable of problem solving and working independently
