About the Role

Goonyella Riverside are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Washplant Operator to join our Processing team. Reporting to the Processing Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the washplant operates safely, efficiently, and productively while maintaining the highest environmental standards.

This position is offered on a 7/7 day/night roster.

Key responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor the Coal Handling Prep Plant (CHPP)
• Performing production tasks include inspections, troubleshooting of production issues, machinery operation and cleaning activities to maintain housekeeping standards
• Assist maintenance team as needed for breakdown maintenance repairs
• Identifying and rectifying hazards, damage and defects
• Ensure all incidents, breaches, near misses and hazards are reported on
• Cultivate positive relationships with all key stakeholders through effective communication & consultation
• Actively take part in the BHP Operating System (BOS) to improve our processes and remove waste from the business

About You

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience with washplant processes and equipment and a strong commitment to maintaining safe work practices and environmental compliance. A reliable and proactive team player, you demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. You thrive in a fast-paced production environment, and are committed to supporting a productive, efficient, and safety-first workplace.

Successful candidates will also possess the following:

• Prior work experience in coal handling and processing or other minerals processing.
• Previous authorisations/qualifications for CHPP RII Competencies ie RIIPRO301D, RIIMCP301D, RIIWBP203D or RIIPRO302D, Conduct Rail Dispatch Operations and Conduct Coal Stockpile Dozer Operations
