Work Location

This role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy, SK.  The work schedule for this role is 7x7.

 

For those not living locally, BHP provides relocation assistance to the local Jansen area. Alternatively, you can enjoy the convenience and comfort of our onsite camp accommodation at Discovery Lodge during your shifts. 

 

BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip and a resettlement allowance. 

The Challenge Ahead

In this role, you will:

  • Welding, cutting and grinding tasks as required in field and shop locations.
  • Interpretation of blueprints, welding specifications.
  • Participate in procedure development for welding related tasks.
  • Follow site safety procedures and standards.
  • Coach and support apprentices and new to industry employees.
  • Complete work orders with appropriate documentation to support work management process.
  • Assist with mechanical trades work.
  • Perform field leadership acitvities as directed.
  • Support BOS principles including 5S and identifying areas of improvement.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • Journeyperson Welding certificate is required.
  • CWB certification is an asset.
  • Ability to work in surface or underground operations.
  • Experience working in a mine setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with work management is an asset.
