About the Role

 

Reporting to the Contractor Management Superintendent, the Contractor Management Specialist is responsible for driving site-based improvements, enhancing governance and assurance, and building capability across contractor management processes, tools, and systems. Working closely with site stakeholders, Contract Owners, Job Initiators, and leaders, the role will play a key part in improving compliance, consistency, and overall effectiveness of contractor management practices across the Carrapateena site. 

 

 

This role is based at Carrapateena on a 5/2, 4/3 roster basis (with flex).  FIFO options are available from Adelaide or Port Augusta.

 

 

 

Role Responsibilities:

 

Driving Site-Based Contractor Management Improvements

  • Act as site custodian of the Copper SA Integrated Management System (IMS) 11.1 – Contractor Management Standard and associated tools, templates, and systems
  • Identify and implement practical improvements aligned to site priorities
  • Support updates to processes, documentation, and systems to improve effectiveness and usability
  • Facilitate engagement sessions to support continuous improvement and adoption

Governance, Compliance and Assurance

  • Conduct site-based audits, compliance checks, and document reviews
  • Undertake verification and assurance activities to confirm contractor management requirements are being met
  • Support Contract Owners, Job Initiators, Contractor Users, and Contractors to close compliance gaps

 

Yard Management, Operational Support and Contractor Lifecycle

  • Support contractor yard management activities to ensure compliance with site requirements
  • Monitor contractor presence, laydown areas, and equipment and material management within designated areas
  • Work with stakeholders and contractors to ensure safe, organised, and efficient use of yard facilities
  • Support Job Initiators with procurement channel selection and contract usage
  • Ensure consistent use of CMF tools, templates, and processes across site
  • Provide day-to-day support to resolve contractor management queries

 

Stakeholder Engagement and Capability Uplift

  • Deliver targeted support to Site stakeholders
  • Provide in-field support through “go and see” engagements
  • Drive alignment with site stakeholders and broader Copper SA Contractor Management network

 

About You

 

  • A strong team player who shows initiative and is motivated to drive continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated experience in contractor management, ideally as a Contract Owner or similar role
  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, governance, compliance, or operational support roles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage across all levels of the business
  • Practical problem solver with strong attention to detail and a hands-on approach
  • Well organised and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic site environment
  • Experience in audits and assurance activities is desirable
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office capability (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with SAP and Power BI will be advantageous
