Work Location

This role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy, SK.  The work schedule for this role is 8/80.

 

For those not living locally, BHP provides relocation assistance to the local Jansen area. Alternatively, you can enjoy the convenience and comfort of our onsite camp accommodation at Discovery Lodge during your shifts. 

 

BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip and a resettlement allowance. 

The Challenge Ahead

Reporting to the Manager Maintenance, the Superintendent Maintenance Mill provides leadership to a team or teams focused on the management and delivery of maintenance execution activities including and exceeding desired levels of availability of safe, reliable mining systems and related equipment.

 

in this role, you will:

  • Plans, schedules, executes and reviews maintenance work orders and activities to maximize efficient production across BHP.
  •  Prepares for and executes maintenance activities, carries out post execution tasks and eliminates defects to facilitate reliable and efficient maintenance operations across BHP. 
  • Controls contamination across the organization through structured and disciplined handling, storage and disposal of consumables and contaminants. 
  • Defines shutdown objectives, scope and schedules, mobiles shutdown resources, and executes shutdown activities to safeguard production and maintain the safety of maintenance operations at BHP. 
  • Translates corporate objectives into actionable plans, communicating, managing and analyzing the implementation of those plans, and reporting back on their progress to facilitate the delivery of our strategy. 
  • Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes. 
  • Supports the management of vendor/customer selection, contracts, and performance to maximize operational and financial outcomes and mitigate BHP's exposure to risk. 

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • Mechanical or electrical engineering degree preferred.
  • Supervisory / leadership experience, experience in mining, logistics, project management, planning and scheduling of people.
  • Previous experience in commissioning of equipment in processing plant.
  • Intimate knowledge of Saskatchewan Mines Regulations. Risk management.
  • Possession of or immediately qualified to obtain Saskatchewan Mines Supervisor certificate.
