New to Industry?

Starting a career in mining can be both exciting and life-changing—especially if you're new to the industry. At BHP, our New-to-Industry Pathways are designed specifically for individuals with little or no prior experience in mining. These programs offer a supportive entry point into BHP through apprenticeships, traineeships, and other structured roles that provide hands-on learning, nationally recognised qualifications, and real-world experience.

Got Experience?

We recognise the value and expertise that experienced Aboriginal & Torres Strait professionals bring to our operations. Our Experienced Pathways are designed to support individuals who already have industry knowledge—whether in mining, trades, logistics, or other related fields—and are ready to take the next step in their careers.

These opportunities span a wide range of roles across our business, from operational and technical positions to leadership and specialist pathways. We’re committed to creating a workplace where Indigenous employees feel supported, respected, and empowered to grow—both professionally and personally.

Graduate & Internship?

At BHP, we believe in nurturing the next generation of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander talent through our Graduate and Intern Programs—designed to launch meaningful careers in mining. These pathways offer university students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain real-world experience, build professional networks, and contribute to projects that make a lasting impact.

Whether you're studying engineering, science, business, or another discipline, our programs provide structured development, mentoring, and exposure to diverse areas of our business.
